Merlot RESERVA Wins the Grand Test

The Grand Test organized by Wine & Degustation magazine recently focused on evaluating the quality of Czech wines made from the Merlot grape. We were thrilled that our Merlot Reserva 2018, late harvest, batch no. 1845, received an impressive 98 points and was named the overall winner of this prestigious tasting.

This victory is yet another confirmation that Moravia is capable of producing world-class red wines. Originally from France, Merlot is known for its deep ruby color and rich, fruity character.

Also worth highlighting is our Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, late harvest, batch no. 1846, which was featured in the February issue of Wine & Degustation. In their special series on this variety, you'll also find an interview with our cellar master Jirka Toman, where he shares insights not only about this wine, but also about the story of our winery and his personal passion for winemaking.

This Cabernet Sauvignon matured for 24 months in toasted oak barrels. Jirka used 600-liter barrels from Mercier (two-thirds of them second-use), with the remaining third coming from the renowned cooperage Baron.

Both of these exceptional wines are available to order through our online shop, or you can enjoy them at our winery in Enomatic wine dispenser no. 8, as part of our self-guided tasting experience.

Come and taste for yourself – we look forward to your visit!
